Gas Flares

Gas flares are required for the safe disposal of gases, such as biogas, sewage gas or others when energy use in combined heat and power or heating is not possible. Our gas flares ensure that no gas can escape into the atmosphere unburned. Generally, flare systems avoid risks to humans and the environment. We offer flares as open flares with an open flame or closed with a covered flame.

Celsigas Gas Flares

Construction

Celsigas gas flares consist of a nozzle, an injector, a flame protection tube and fitting groups. The gas-touched parts are commonly made of stainless steel.

A substructure holds the flare body and contains the nozzle with the injector as well as the ignition and flame monitoring electrodes.

The substructure of the flare consists of steel. It holds the flares valves and instruments. The group of valves and instruments can consist of a motor-driven valve, a flame arrester valve and a pressure switch. Depending on our client’s systems, we adjust valves and instruments to meet safety and functional requirements.

Our inhouse produced control cabinets are installed locally or in the control room. From here we control the gas supply, the ignition and the switching sequences.

Function

A signal starts the gas combustion. With the opening of the solenoid valve the ignition process starts. After opening the valve the gas flows through a nozzle and sweeps air in the injector. Consequently, a combustible gas/air mixture develops in the combining pipe.

An ignition electrode fed by an ignition transformer ignites the flame or a pilot burner. Sensors like ionisation electrodes or UV sensors monitor the flame.

The ignition sequence takes place and produces a stable flame formation. Eventually, the flare burns until a control system activates a switch-off signal. This signal can come from a safety chain or from normal operation signals.

A control panel contains the complete control system for the ignition process and flame monitoring.

Manufacturing

Our engineers design our flares in our headquarters in Germany and Indonesia. We manufacture in-house in our workshops in Jakarta following the latest international manufacturing standards.
